Upon retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces I successfully completed the Digital and Interactive Media Design DIMD (now known as Digital Media Design) Program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. The curriculum included Web Design, Graphic Design, Video and Broadcast Design, Photography for the Web as well as numerous software packages and programming languages. Proceeding to work independent freelance since completion of the DIMD program, I sought out local businesses in the Morinville area to build websites for. Some higher profile businesses who allowed me to get them onto the world wide web were, Bumper to Bumper/Home Hardware found at www.onegreatstore.ca, Quinns Plumbing at www.quinnsplumbing.com and Homes by 2 Broz at www.homesby2broz.com. For a time I created websites for clients of Netknow Inc. I gained invaluable experience during this period and fostered an ongoing professional relationship with them. I took some time to experience direct retail sales with The Home Depot. I gained enormous insight into consumer attitudes and trends. I kept my hand in web design on a part time basis and kept my skills current. I was offered a position of Web Developer with Visionary Solutions of St. Albert, Alberta. This is the current position I now hold. We administer to our own servers and utilize a content management system to serve most of our sites. Visionary Solutions is the umbrella organization which consists of Visionary College, Innovations Music, Vstudios and Visionary Entertainment. |
